Preventative Law Report

Three sessions of the Spring Preventative Law program were conducted at each of the participating missions—Joy Junction, Albuquerque Rescue Mission, and Noon Day Ministries. The topics were How to Avoid Problems with the Law, Family Law, and Obtaining and Retaining Public Benefits. Principal Presenters included Jim Roach and Joe Allred for How to Avoid Problems with the Law; Allison Pieroni for all sessions of Family Law, and Carole Garner of Law Access for all sessions of Public Benefits. Volunteer attorneys Sherrie Trescott and John Robb were privileged to attend all but one session; Laura Boyett three sessions; Jim Roach two sessions; and Jerry Dixon, Keith Franchini, Steve Williams, Betsy Honce, and Jenica Jacobi one session each. The total attendance was 1,283, including 290 at Joy Junction, 855 at Noon Day and 118 at Albuquerque Rescue Mission. Christian Legal Aid also conducted 34 formal and 28 informal private interviews at the sessions. . .
