Record Smashing Year

Thanks to God, 2009 was the most successful year in the history of NMCLA. It began with the preparations for and conducting of the January 24, 2009 gala dinner banquet celebration of the 2008 10-year anniversary of the Christian Legal Aid program. The dinner included volunteers, donors and friends, as well as representatives from our sponsors, Noon Day Ministry (several board members), Joy Junction, Albuquerque Rescue Mission, and the Victory Outreach Church and Fellowship pastors, a potential new sponsor. The event was honored by the attendance of keynote speaker Sam Casey of Washington, D.C., former CEO of Christian Legal Society (“CLS”) and now General Counsel and Sr. Vice President of Advocates International, a worldwide fellowship of more than 7,000 non-U.S. lawyer members. The evening program included special reports and stories about NMCLA volunteers and their service to the poor and homeless particularly re-counted by Danny Whatley, Executive Director of Noon Day Ministry. . .
