NMCLAs Preventative Law and Community Education (PLACE) Program received national recognition in a recent Christian Legal Society (CLS) study. The soon to be released report reviewed four PLACE programs and recognized NMCLA for outstanding program agenda and curriculum quality.
PLACE teaches the poor and homeless how to avoid commonly encountered legal difficulties and educates them on their rights and responsibilities under the law. The programs goal is to prevent or minimize the impact of legal issues that adversely affect poor and homeless persons and their families. . . .
